Lazy Laundry Leisure

It had initially started out as any other laundry day. Sort of.

Shark wanted to stay in bed all morning, complicating Sinbad’s routine of stripping the bedsheets off.

“Come on, dude,” the redhead groaned as he tried tugging on his boyfriend’s leg, “your old man said we were on laundry duty this week.”

Shark grumbled and retreated further into himself. His bear, which brought him an untold amount of joy upon being returned to him, was held firmly in his arms.

“Can’t it wait until tomorrow?”

“Nope. Your dad don’t want us to put it off. Now come on. Up.”

Sinbad and Shark were having a hard time trying to keep the washing machine in place. The unstable, clunky piece of machinery seemed to be wanting to break free and leave the house.

In the end, Shark ended up sitting on top, watching Sinbad put the previous load into the dryer.

On the other side of the room, the TV was on, airing the top news story. Apparently Bill was at it again.

“Did they say what he did?” Sinbad turned to look at the footage of Shark’s uncle being shown.

“Not really. He is saying an awful lot of cuss words, though.” Indeed, about two-thirds of Bill’s tirade had to be censored for daytime television.

Seeing that this wasn’t anything new for them, Sinbad walked over and changed the channel to something more suited to their tastes.

“Do we really have to put this stuff away right now?” Shark held a large pile of freshly laundered sheets and pillowcases, and breathed in the smell of detergent and fabric softener.

Sinbad was distracted from the TV long enough to answer. “Well, what’d you have in mind, turning the blankets into capes?”

“Not really.” The brunet then unceremoniously dropped the load of laundry onto the floor. Sinbad was about to snap at him before Shark pulled him to his feet. “We can always wash them again, right?”

“Yeah, I guess.” To his surprise, Sinbad was greeted with immense warmth and softness. “Holy shit, it’s like laying on a cloud.”

Shark crawled over and wrapped his arms around his boyfriend. “I know, right? But if you still want to put the sheets back…”

The redhead stopped him from talking. “Changed my mind. Now I got other ideas…”

It hadn’t taken long for the two of them to strip down to their underwear and snuggle up in the sheets while watching TV shows on Netflix.

At some point they’d ordered pizza and two liters of pop, which earned Sinbad a weird look from the deliveryman due to wearing only his shorts. Said pizza was promptly devoured.

“Dude, you got red shit all over your face.” Sinbad couldn’t help pointing out the pizza sauce that managed to be smeared around Shark’s mouth.

“Where?” The brunet reached up to wipe it off, only to have Sinbad’s thumb on his cheek and having it cleaned off and licked off.

“I got it, don’t worry. Just as long as you don’t get any on the sheets. But then again, we’re washing them again, so do what the hell you want.”

Sinbad then stared at the show playing. “So let me get this clarified. That girl jumped into a well, and ended up in feudal Japan?”

“Uh-huh.”

The redhead cringed. “That makes no sense.”

Shark chuckled. “Neither does deadly notebooks. But that doesn’t mean they’re bad shows.”

“Hey, as long as you like them, man.”
